Rare Appaloosa Genetics! Wahoo's dam is the closest appaloosa descendant to LF Del a Burl, the handsome appaloosa male that was exported to Germany. With his departure, these genetics were limited to just two females in the United States-- one of which is MaRS Dixie-- Wahoo's dam. Dixie is the only appaloosa descendant of daughter from LF del A Burl in the U.S. In Germany, Burl went on to produce 50+ cria, the majority of which are appaloosa and/or patterned. We have closed outside breedings to Wahoo, clients are welcome to request him. Please take a look at some of his available progeny! We have several females that are currently bred to him that are available or will be in the near future.

Bristol has produced incredible results when bred to Wahoo from MaRS, and as a result, Alpacas from MaRS have repeated the breeding for a third time, with the expected arrival of a cria in August 2024. Blank Canvas is a white female cria who reflects the goals of our breeding program here at Talen Ranch. She brings together genetics that combine brightness, uniformity, density, fineness, and staple length, all traits we emphasize in our herd.
Her dam, Bristol of MaRS (AOA# 35566670), contributes exceptional fleece qualities, including brightness, consistent high frequency crimp, excellent staple length, density, and full coverage. She stands on a correct, well balanced frame with strong bone and a pleasing phenotype. Bristol is sired by AspenAlpacas Highpoint, a male whose pedigree includes the champion white sire Silver Rose Overture. Highpoint proved himself in the show ring, earning second place at the 2017 Alpacapalooza Show in a competitive class of light fawn juvenile males, with Judge Jill Macleod noting his ideal proportions, strong bone, coverage, and correct head. He followed that success with a first place light yearling fleece and the Color Champion Light Fleece award at Fiber Fusion Northwest in 2018.
Her sire, Wahoo! from MaRS (AOA# 35566632), descends from the LF Del A Burl bloodline, which is known for producing high quality alpacas and appaloosas. He is recognized for his exceptional fleece qualities, including fineness, staple length, character, and uniformity. His early progeny are already demonstrating strong fleece traits and exciting spotted patterns.
